GEORGE L.

George L. Potts, of Monroeville, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Beloved husband for 57 years of Evelyne (Wabich) Potts. Loving father of George W. (Mary Kathleen Fallon) Potts and Edward J. (Melanie Cox) Potts. Proud grandfather of Emma, Kelsey and Cameron. Brother-in-law of the late Walter Wabich. Uncle, great-uncle and great-great-uncle of Lisa Wabich, Kaitlyn Ryan and Layla Nelson. Devoted guardian of canine friends Chips, Taz, Bear and Franky.

George was born on December 29, 1931, in Hamilton, OH, and was the eldest brother of Edward and John Potts. He graduated from Germantown High School, attended Tri-State College of Angola, IN, and graduated from Robert Morris University. Proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Missouri and later served during the Vietnam War. George worked at Union Switch and Signal and other companies throughout the Pittsburgh region, concluding his career with 15 years at Duquesne University.

Active at the local senior center, George enjoyed playing cards with his fellow retirees. He also liked crossword puzzles and continued tackling home improvement projects well into later years.

Arrangements entrusted to JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette Church-Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish, Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with an hour of visitation at 10:00 a.m., prior to Mass, please meet at the church. Interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park, please meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's memory to DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
