GIOVANNA (LeDONNE)

Age 97, of Bloomfield, passed away surrounded by loved ones, on April 8, 2025, at Concordia of Wexford. Born the daughter of Giuseppe LeDonne and Antonia Ranallo on June 24, 1927. Beloved wife of 54 years to the late Giuseppe Ricci.

Devoted mother to Anna (late Pasquale) Villani, Domenic (Christine) Ricci and Maria (Paul) Lazzaro and the late Domenico Ricci.

Cherished Nunnie of Mark (Holly) Villani, Amy (Kevin) Hoerner, Dina Villani, Patsy (Christina) Villani, Anthony (Carolyn) Ricci, Alissa (Doug) Orszulak, Christian (Kelsey) Ricci, Rosanna (Jason) Broze, Cristina (Brian) Perris, Nicolas (Julie) Lazzaro and Marina (Benjamin) Dumas.

Adored great-grandma of Shane (Nicole), Isabella and Gabrielle Villani, Thomas (Baylee), Giovanna and Alexander Hoerner, the late Thomas Council III and the late Taleena Natalia Eberhardt, Sophia Villani, Benjamin and Charlotte Ricci, Domenic and Joseph Ricci, Giuliana, Jackson and Rocco Broze, Natalina and Joseph Perris and Paul and Eliana Lazzaro.

Great-great-grandma to Lexi and Alana Villani.

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Giovanna was born and grew up in Ateleta, L'Aquila, Italy. She immigrated with her husband and children to Pittsburgh in 1965, settling in the Bloomfield neighborhood.

Giovanna loved to spend her days cooking, baking and enjoying several cups of coffee. She loved spending time with her family and watching it grow. She was proud of each and every one of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than her family.

Family and friends are welcomed at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 2-7 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Jude Parish, St. Raphael Church on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow in Allegheny Cemetery.
