Glenn K. Abel, 84, of Chester Springs, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Hickory House Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Honey Brook, PA.



Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Glenn was the son of the late Edward G. and Gladys K. (Walliser) Abel. He was first married to the late Carol J. (Hudson) Abel, who passed away in 1999. He later married Susan L. (Muller) Abel, with whom he shared 20 wonderful years of marriage.



Glenn earned his bachelor's degree in meteorology from Penn State University and later earned his master's degree in information systems from USC. Glenn proudly served in the United States Air Force for 27 years, eventually obtaining the rank of Lt. Colonel. He loved playing sports including baseball, football, tennis, cycling, and golf. Additionally, he loved nature, photography and country music.



As a young man, Glenn played for the Little Pirates, an amateur baseball team sponsored by the Pittsburgh Pirates, as well as the San Franscisco Giants' minor league team. In retirement, Glenn was an avid golfer, served as the past President of the Elverson Golf League, and was a dedicated volunteer for Good Works Inc., and Habitat for Humanity.



In addition to Susan, Glenn is survived by his children, Brad A. Abel of West Chester, PA, and Shannon Abel-Molloy (John) of Enola, PA; grandchildren, Katie, Jack, and Sarah; brother, Lee G. Abel (Connie); sister-in-law, Anna Abel, and many nieces and nephews.



In addition to Carol and his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his siblings, Edward Abel, Bruce Abel (Helene), and Lonnie Abel.



A visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 9:45-10:45 AM, at Fairview Presbyterian Church, 800 Fairview Rd., Glenmoore, PA 19343. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, at the church. Interment will follow at the church's adjoining cemetery.
