GREGORY A. "GREG"

Age 78, of Bridgeville, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, with family by his side. He was born November 18, 1946, in Natrona Heights, son of the late Robert M. and Florence W. (Wrobel) Markwell.

Greg graduated from Tarentum High School in 1964. After high school, he received his bachelors degree in 1968 from Wabash College and later graduated from Naval Post Graduate School in 1982.

Greg served his country as a US Naval Pilot and retired after 28 years of dedicated service.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, flying and was an avid reader and car enthusiast. He used his innate mechanical ability to build his Porsche from the frame up. Greg had a great sense of humor and was always the life of the party.

Greg is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 57 years, Cynthia B. (Myers) Markwell; two sons, Samuel A. Markwell of Salem, MA and Joshua T. Markwell of Upper St. Clair; two grandchildren, Grayson and Dexter Markwell; two sisters, Kerry McMeans of Richmond, VA, and Maria Wilkin of Vandergrift, PA; and two brothers, J. Kevin Markwell of Annapolis, MD, and Robert S. Markwell of North Strabane, PA

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the BEINHAUER FUNERAL HOME, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray (724-941-3211). A blessing Service will be held at the funeral home, on Friday, at 11 a.m.
