GREGORY D.

On Sunday, May 25, 2025, Greory D. Murphy, of Bellefonte and formerly of Avalon, passed away at the age of 55. He earned a Bachelor's degree at Robert Morris University in Computer and Information Science and a Master's degree at Penn State University in Information, Science and Technology. At the time of his passing, Greg was employed at Penn State University, University Park, as a Database Administrator. Greg loved the outdoors, from hunting to gardening. He also enjoyed working in his shop creating crafts and "peddling" them with his wife Denise at local craft fairs or an Indoor Market, "Titan Market". Greg could also be found making a batch of his homemade beer or a new batch of wine. While Greg was an avid Notre Dame football fan, He had a great love for Penn State Hockey, and you could find him at Pegula Ice Arena on the weekends supporting the Nittany Lions. Greg is survived by his amazing wife, Denise (Haberberger); his beautiful daughters, Lauren Murphy and Kaitlyn Clark (Jimmy); and fine son, James Murphy. Also leaving behind a sister, Sharon Murphy (John Capp); brothers, Patrick "Scott" (Rita) and Mark (Roberta Edwards); and a nephew, Declan Murphy; his honored in-laws, Dennis and Phylis Haberberger; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fred and Tabetha Haberberger; and of course his beloved labradoodle, Rudy. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Patrick D. and Patricia (Wylie) Murphy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025, Divine Grace Parish, St. Ferdinand Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066. Interment will follow at Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Arrangements by LAWRENCE T.
