GREGORY DOUGLAS

Gregory Moore, age 43, died on June 2, 2026, of complications from aspiration pneumonia.

He is survived by his parents, Hank and Jan Moore; his sister, Caitlin Moore Elliott; brother-in-law, Sean Elliott; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Gregory was born September 19, 1982. As a young baby, he did not believe in sleeping through the night, despite his mother's efforts to explain the family's early bedtimes to him, and his father's attempts to lull him to sleep by driving him around the neighborhood; he usually woke up again when they pulled into the garage. Gregory had a delightful smile, and he was happy to be passed from relative to relative during his first family Christmas.

On January 3, 1983, Gregory suffered an accidental traumatic brain injury, which shaped the rest of his life. He was totally disabled. He could not walk or talk and was always a challenge to feed. Though his communication skills were limited, he was quite assertive in pushing away things he didn't like to eat, such as anything chocolate.

He attended many programs and schools, including an Easter Seals infant stim program, preschool at the-then Rehabilitation Institute, Camp AIM, Pathfinder School, and New Horizon School. Gregory lived at McGuire Memorial in New Brighton, starting in 1989. Until the covid pandemic, he regularly came home on Sundays, and afterward we visited him at McGuire. We thank the many teachers, direct care staff, medical professionals, and others at McGuire and elsewhere who have cared for him over the years.

Visitation will be at BEINHAUER FUNERAL HOME, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will also take place at Beinhauer on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery and lunch at Atria's Peters Township.
