On Friday, April 25, 2025, Gretchen Ann Grigassy, age 78, of Oakland.
She was born on November 24, 1946, in Pittsburgh, PA, and was the daughter of the late Marie and Nicholas P. Grigassy. Sister of Nancy MacLeod of Harrisburg and Fr. Daniel, O.F.M., of Silver Spring, MD; niece of the late Ellie and Joseph Wymard; cousin of Josh Wymard of Dallas, TX and Peter Wymard of Gibsonia.
Gretchen loved her job as administrative assistant at the Allegheny County Health Department in Oakland, for 47 years. After retiring, she enjoyed her friends and travel to Canada and the New Jersey shore. She is known for love of music, theatre and good books. Her family and friends will remember her with great affection.
Friends will be received at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS INC., (freyvogelfuneralhome.com), 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street, on Monday, from 3-7 p.m. Funeral, Tuesday, Mass of Christian Burial, St. Paul Cathedral, 10 a.m. Interment All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery, 1560 Brinton Road, Pittsburgh. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Paul Cathedral, 108 N. Dithridge Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
