Gretchen Sue Neubert, beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, joined her dear parents Dale and Sue (Van Winkle) Neubert, in heaven on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Gretty Sue - the oldest of five siblings - Dan (Cathy) Neubert, Polly (Doug) McCracken, Missy (Bill) Michaels, and Betsy (Jeff) Martinelli - loved her family dearly and took great pride in her six nephew and nieces - Christopher (April) Kasten, Marcie (Dan) Hyde, Lauren (Michael) Pesta, and Laura, Becki, and Patrick (Melissa) Martinelli, and adored her great niece Kaya. As a nursing assistant at St. Francis Hospital, Gretchen's sweet and caring nature helped thousands of patients for more than 30 years until it's closing in 2002. She loved Elvis, Englebert, the Pirates, the Steelers, playing cards, and sharing memories of growing up in Dormont and good times spent at camp, in Johnstown and Oakmont, and her trips to Europe, Las Vegas, and many visits to Clearwater, Florida. Most of all, Gretchen loved her cats - and all animals. If you would like to honor her memory, please consider a donation to Animal Friends or the pet charity of your choice.
