FUEHRER

HARRY ALLAN

Age 82, of Bethel Park, passed away unexpectedly, after a brief illness, on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Harry was the beloved husband of 56 years to the late Gloria N. (Spiroff) Fuehrer, who preceded him in 2021; loving father of J Alan Fuehrer; dear brother of Darla (the late Lane) France and the late Buddy (Nancy Berisko, surviving) Fuehrer; son of the late Gayle Brawdy; uncle of Debbie (John) Smesko, Alison (Mike) Batten, Kelly (Mike) Ravo, Jeffrey A. (Patricia) Fuehrer, Johna Fuehrer (Charles) Simpson and Michael J. (Rebecka) Fuehrer; brother-in-law of Mildred "Mitzi" Bacco - Mitzi and Harry supported one another after the loss of their spouses and enjoyed each other's company. Harry also shared a close relationship with his niece, Mitzi's daughter, Kristi Mastrangelo and her son, Collin Gurtner. Harry is also survived by many other great-nieces and nephews and other loving family members.

Harry graduated from Peters Township High School in 1961. He went on to wrestle for Waynesburg College, where he earned a degree in business after graduating in 1965. Right out of college, Harry got a job at Hartford Insurance and over the next 38 years, he rose through the ranks. He helped to create and lead the Structured Settlement Program between the claims and life companies, which was a billion-dollar success. After an illustrious career, he retired in 2003. He greatly enjoyed spending time at Valley Book Country Club, where he was an avid golfer. He continued to be physically active throughout his life, regularly running the Pittsburgh Marathon. In the last few years, he walked at least a mile every day. Harry was extremely gregarious - he loved meeting and connecting with people, and was a person that everyone loved. He will be greatly missed.
