HARRY WILLIAM "BILL"
Peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025, surrounded by his family, Harry William "Bill" Taylor passed away. Harry was born in Pittsburgh and lived in Hazelwood until his marriage to Fran, where they lived in Oakland for the rest of their lives. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather (Pappy) and great-grandfather. He was a devoted Catholic and his number one joy was spending time with his family. When Bill was young, he worked at Schenley Park Stables, where he grew to love horses. He worked for the Parking Authority and had his own window cleaning business. Bill loved sitting on his back porch eating his sweets, watching westerns and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers with Fran. No matter what kind of day he was having, when his grandchildren and great-grandchildren came to visit, he would smile ear to ear. Preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Barone) Taylor; his parents, Margaret (Baker) Taylor and Harry Taylor; sister, Maxine (Taylor) Rhodes. Bill is survived by daughters, Janet (Tom) Waldron, Karen (Marty) DeKlaven, Debbie (John) Rende, Laurie (Charlie) McLaughlin; and son, Mike Taylor. Grandfather (Pappy) to Deanna (AJ) Wolkiewicz, Jennifer (Nick) Musolin, Johnny Rende, Colin McLaughlin, Alyssa (Bill) Howley, Sean McLaughlin, Kevin Taylor, Liam McLaughlin, and Jarod McLaughlin. Great-grandfather to Olivia Musolin, Adriana Musolin, Aurora Wolkiewicz, and Billy Howley. Brother to Donna Taylor, Ronald Taylor, and Doug Taylor. Friends will be received at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS, INC. (freyvogelfuneralhome.com), 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street, on Monday, from 2-7 p.m. Funeral Tuesday, Mass of Christian Burial, St. Rosalia Church, 10 a.m. Everyone please meet at church.
