IVAN T. HOFMANN IV Obituary

Cranberry Twp. - Age 53, of Cranberry Twp., passed away on July 13, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family. Born on July 10, 1972, in Peru, IN, Ivan IV is the beloved son of Ruth and Ivan Hofmann III of Edgeworth, PA.

Ivan IV graduated salutatorian at Quigley Catholic High School in 1990. There, he participated in musicals, competitive math, excelled in tennis and competed at the national level of Mock Trial. He went on to earn his B.S. in Business Administration, Accounting/Economics, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Notre Dame in 1994.

He served as Vice President and Managing Director/Shareholder at Gleason and Associates. He had years of professional experience, with a deep specialization in complex intellectual property matters. His expertise included extensive litigation support and testifying experience in quantifying financial damages related to patent infringement and other intellectual property issues. Ivan's certifications included Certified Public Accountant, Certified in Financial Forensics, and a Certified Licensing Professional.

Ivan's sense of humor and warm heart will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him. He enjoyed golfing with friends, rooting for Notre Dame football and traveling the world. He inherited his mother's gift for entertaining, hosting unforgettable birthday celebrations for his daughters. She championed him in every endeavor. Ivan IV and his father shared not only thoughtful business conversations, but also a bond rooted in genuine friendship. They treasured father-son pilgrimages for football games, and adventures to Ireland and Australia.

He was the proudest "girl dad" ever, embracing every moment he had with his precious daughters, Grace and Emily. They describe him as loving, funny, caring, and adventurous. They spent many vacations at Disney World and enjoyed riding roller coasters together. He loved playing games with his girls, making crafts and cheering them on at all band and chorus performances. He liked introducing them to 80's music and taking them to concerts. They also shared an obsession with all things Star Wars, never missing a new movie.

In addition to his parents and daughters, Ivan IV leaves behind his heartbroken sisters, Melissa Wagner of Scottsdale, AZ, and Lindsay Shields (Joseph) of Encino, CA, and their children. To his niece and nephews, Ivan was "UI," a nickname they gave him from the movie "Uncle Buck". Mason and Annie Wagner, Joey and Reed Shields could count on UI to bring party games, fun and fireworks to all family events and will miss him very much.

Ivan IV was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Norris and Yvonne Carpenter; paternal grandparents, Ivan Hofmann and Alice Hofmann; aunt, Susan Balcerowski; and cousin, Sara Trickel.

All funeral arrangements and burial are private and under the direction of COPELAND FUNERAL HOME, Sewickley, PA. Condolences may be expressed at: http://www.copelandfuneralhomes.com. The family is grateful for the love and support of so many at this time.
