JACK

Hilltopper and

Lifelong Servant

Jack Adams of McMurray, PA, passed peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2025, after a long illness, surrounded by his beloved family.

Born on April 28, 1941, in Washington, PA, he was the cherished son of the late Cliff and Ruth Adams.

He is survived by his daughter, Lindsay Adams; and granddaughter, Lilly Stevenson; a nephew, Steven Adams (Monica); a great-nephew and niece, Noah and Kali Adams; and his lifelong best friend, Chuck Jeswilkowski. Beloved husband of the late Linda (Johnson) Adams, who preceded him in death in 1995.

A proud 1963 alumnus of West Liberty University (then West Liberty State College), Jack earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Beyond his academic success, he remained deeply connected to his alma mater throughout his life.

In 2017, Jack made a landmark contribution by establishing the Jack Adams Hilltopper Athletic Club Endowment. A substantial lead gift to the West Liberty University Foundation, this endowment underwrites scholarships, program support, and facility enhancements across all athletic programs. The Athletic Club itself stands as the cornerstone of WLU Athletics' fundraising, offering fans VIP access, special events, and meaningful engagement with student-athletes.

Jack's service extended well beyond the sidelines. He served on the West Liberty University Board of Governors, played a pivotal role on the Alumni Association and Foundation Board, and held leadership positions in the GaryE. West College of Business Advisory Board and Pittsburgh Chapter of the Alumni Association. In 2012, he was honored with induction into WLU's prestigious Alumni Wall of Honor, recognizing his professional achievements and philanthropic dedication.

Professionally, Jack dedicated three decades to Exxon Company (USA), focusing on marketing, real estate, and engineering, before serving as president of SJR's Team Supreme, a prominent firm in convenience store marketing. He also served as a sergeant and squad leader in the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam War, embodying his lifelong commitment to service.

Jack's greatest source of pride was his family. His daughter, Lindsay Adams, and granddaughter, Lilly Stevenson, stood by his side until the very end. Their unwavering love and support provided solace and strength during his final days.

Jack Adams leaves behind a legacy of service, generosity, and leadership. Through the endowment bearing his name, future generations of Hilltoppers will benefit from scholarships and athletic opportunities, ensuring his impact lives on in the fields and courts of West Liberty.

As mourners reflect on his life, they honor a man who was as passionate on the Bleachers as in the boardroom, whose greatest joy was his family, and whose legacy is interwoven with the history and future of West Liberty University.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and Friday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., at the BEINHAUER FUNERAL HOME, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray (724-941-3211).

Memorial Contributions to honor Jack's memory and continue his commitment to West Liberty Athletics, may be made to The WLU Foundation-The Jack Adams Hilltopper Athletic Club Endowment, 208 University Drive, COB 126, West Liberty, WV 26074, or online at wlufoundation.edu/give (Please write "Jack Adams" in the special request box).
