James Alexander DiPerna, Sr., 91, formerly of Allison Park, PA, died on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Hemsley House of McCandless. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Carol Ann (Reinehr) DiPerna of Natrona Heights, PA. Born on December 11, 1934, in Brackenridge, PA, Jim was the son of the late Angelo and Florence Regina (Panzara) DiPerna and brother of the late Raymond F. (Lois) DiPerna, Sr., of Tarentum, PA.

Jim was the cherished father and grandfather of James (Susan Schoewe) DiPerna, Jr., of Allison Park, and their four children, Caroline (Allen) Dean, Alexandra (Jake) Brezinsky, Kathleen DiPerna, and James (Samantha) III; Susan (John) Comerci of Sewickley and their three children, John, Alexander (Kihei), and Annie; Julianne (Rich) Barton of Harmony and their three children, Ben (Savanna), Anna, and Josie; and Marianne (Dan) Orie of Bradenton, FL, and their two children, Tom and Meg. He was also the great-grandfather of Saylor Barton, Miles Brezinsky, Charlotte DiPerna, Azlynn, Arielle, and Archer Dean.

Jim graduated from Har-Brack Union High School in 1953 and then attended Elon University on a football scholarship. After graduating from Elon in 1960, he married his high school sweetheart, Carol. A veteran of the Air Force Reserves, he was honorably discharged in 1966.

Jim enjoyed a long career working with the steel industries of Detroit, Philadelphia, Youngstown, and Pittsburgh. He started his own company, Cast-Mate, Inc., in 1983 and continued his service in the steel industry until his retirement.

Jim was an extremely hardworking man who led by example. He passed his relentless work ethic onto his children and grandchildren and encouraged them to strive to accomplish their dreams. Jim was very generous and giving and always tried to help those around him. When not working, Jim enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, attending their many different activities, helping with school projects, preparing family meals, building models, landscaping, and sketching. He also enjoyed golfing with his friends at Brackenridge Heights Country Club and meeting friends for dinner and cards. Jim was incredibly charming, and his family and friends will miss his playful sense of humor!

The family would like to thank the staff of both Hampton Fields Village and Hemsley House of McCandless for their wonderful care of Jim.

A private family mass and interment will be held at Saint Mary's of the Assumption Church in Glenshaw, PA, where Jim was a parishioner since moving to Hampton in 1974.
