JAMES D. "JIM"

Of Mt. Lebanon, formerly of Presto, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the age of 90.

Beloved husband for 48 years to Susan H. Godwin; father of Jim (Francine), John (Kelly), Jane Lange, Michael (Mallory), and Scott Godwin; grandfather of Alexa, Sydney, Cody, Max, Heather, Matt, Cole, Samuel, and Claire; great-grandfather of Luke, Sydney, and Brooks; brother of Tom, Linda, and the late Vi, Dorothy, and Marylou.

A loving husband, a father of five; grandfather of nine; and a great-grandfather of three. Handsome, charming, kind, and an extraordinary athlete. He was a dedicated sports enthusiast of his children and grandchildren and was a true outdoorsman. A lover of fishing, hiking, and especially hunting, leading to legendary trips out west to hunt elk and mule deer. Jim and Sue lived life to the fullest, traveling to Alaska, England, Africa, and Australia. He worked in the steel industry for years, earning the respect and admiration of all, and was a mentor to many young professionals entering the industry. He embraced life and never showed his age. He will be remembered and missed by us all.

Friends received on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 2:00-6:00 p.m., at LAUGHLIN CREMATION & FUNERAL TRIBUTES, 222 Washington Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15216, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
