JAMES EDWARD

James Edward Thieman, age 76, of McMurray, Pennsylvania of late, and of Scott Township, Pennsylvania since 1976, passed away peacefully at home on December 28, 2025.

Jim grew up in Bethel Park, PA where he attended St. Ann's Catholic Grade School followed by South Catholic High School. He was a proud graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1971 earning a Bachelors in Business Management. It was there that he met his future wife and lifelong partner, Gail Becker Thieman, during a chance encounter at a school dance. They were married in 1974. Jim spent his entire 41-year career with Lewis-Goetz, an industrial products company, rising from inventory control to VP of Operations when he retired in 2014.

Jim is predeceased by his parents F. William Thieman and Catherine "Kitty" Conti Thieman, and his brother Bill Thieman. He is survived by his brother Fred (Christine), his wife Gail, his children Jake (Jackie) Thieman and, Annie ( Dave Wolfrey) Thieman, and his grandchildren Austin, Riley, Teddy, Scotty, and Jay.

Jim was an avid sports enthusiast. He helped lead the intermural football team to victory his senior year of high school. He loved soccer and played throughout his life, coached his children and their friends, and was a WPIAL certified referee. Jim also was a swimming official for many years and appeared on TV during the 2019 High School State Championships. Jim lived a life of service and acted as President of Our Lady of Grace Athletic Association in Chalkhill, PA. He was also a lifelong Catholic and parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church in Scott Township But most of all, Jim is remembered for being a kind person with a positive attitude, permanent smile, and a love for animals (especially dogs). He will live on in memory for his gentleness and sense of humor.

Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Friends and family are welcome at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, PA, 724-941-3211 on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Church, Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10 a.m. at 310 Kane Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA.
