ALBRIGHT

JAMES J.

James J. Albright, 67, of Mount Washington, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones, after courageously battling a prolonged illness.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Julia B. Lentchner, and his adoring children, Amy (Joseph) Monroe, Andrew (Amanda) Albright, and Zachary (Janie) Albright. He was the most loving Pap-Pap to his cherished grandchildren: Joseph, Lilian, and James.

Jim proudly served as a member of the Sheriff's Reserves, was a skilled firearms instructor, and earned numerous awards in competitive shooting. For three decades, Jim cultivated a talent for craftsmanship, working alongside Pittsburgh's top designers as an interior contractor.

In retirement, Jim became widely known for his photography, especially his stunning panoramas of the Pittsburgh skyline taken from his Trimont balcony. A passionate traveler, he documented his and Julia's journeys around the world, with a special fondness for their "home away from home" in Rome, Italy.

Jim was deeply loved by all who knew him. Throughout his illness, he remained a favorite patient at UPMC Mercy Hospital, where he was known for his warm smile and kind words to the staff, despite his own suffering. His joyful disposition, knack for storytelling and talent for playing the harmonica will be memories cherished by all.

Funeral arrangements will be private and are entrusted to WM. SLATER & SONS INC., Mt. Washington, 412-381-3345. www.slaterfuneral.com

Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Advocates, 35 Wabash Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15220.
