QUINT
JANET K.
The family of Janet (Krater) Quint, of Cranberry Twp., is saddened to announce her passing, on October 24, 2025, at the age of 91, from complications of Parkinson's disease.
She was the beloved wife of the late Donald. H. Quint, MD; and she is survived by her children, Kimberly (Robert Jorgensen) Quint, Douglas (Ruth) Quint, Leslie Quint; and grandchildren, Anna Shelow, Ethan Quint and Benjamin Quint. She was predeceased by her parents, Helen (Earley) and Howard Krater; her brother, Donald Krater; and her sister and brother-in-law, Jean (Krater) and George Scott.
Janet graduated from Coraopolis High School, and from the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at the Pittsburgh Eye and Ear Hospital until she and Don started a family.
Artistic by nature, Janet expressed herself in the planning and nurturing of her beautiful perennial gardens, renovating and decorating her home in Wexford, and trying new recipes, especially when family visited. She took pride in her appearance and loved a trip to "town" (Pittsburgh) to shop at the department stores for something special. She was a lifelong water aerobics devotee and cherished her friendships with "the girls" who she met through this activity. Visits with her always included a day trip to a museum, an antique flea market, or perhaps, a garden in bloom.
Her family would like to thank Sherwood Oaks, Oak Grove Staff and Bridges Hospice Staff for their care and kindness during this difficult time.
There will be no viewing. A Service of remembrance will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at the Homewood Cemetery Chapel, 1599 South Dallas Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217, immediately followed by Burial in the Homewood Cemetery, for family and friends who are able to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden, One Schenley Park, Pittsburgh, PA 15213-3830 (www.phipps.conservatory.org/donate) or Meals on Wheels Southwestern, PA (mealsonwheelssouthwestpa.com).
