BROWN

JANICE "JO" FOX

Age 82, of Upper St. Clair, passed away peacefully, on June 22, 2025, in her home at Friendship Village, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, on April 24, 1943, Jo graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology with a fine arts degree. Jo was a talented and prolific artist and her uniquely beautiful view of the world will be remembered by the hundreds of watercolor paintings that hang in the homes of family, friends and patrons. Jo also faced the difficult challenge of alcoholism and through quiet dedication and strength she attributed to a higher power she found lasting recovery since 1987.

Jo's greatest passion and accomplishment was caring selflessly for her family. Jo was survived by her husband of 58 years, John R. Brown, III; her children, John (Jack) R. Brown, III and Alison (Ali) Fox Wertz; her three grandchildren: Jamison, Kendall and Fiona; her sister, Jill (Fox) Spargo; and many other nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Friendship Village's Memory Care Community for the care and attention Jo received from them in her last few years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Gateway Rehab Center.

Checks can be made payable to "Gateway Rehab" and mailed to 100 Moffett Run Rd, Bldg. A, Aliquippa, PA 15001 or you can donate online at: www.gatewayrehab.org/resources/get-involved/donate-now

Friends and family will be received at BEINHAUER FUNERAL HOME, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, on Saturday, June 28, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. A Funeral Service will be immediately following in the Beinhauer Chapel.
