JANICE (REFFNER)

Of North Braddock, age 83, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Janice was the beloved wife of Henry "Fudd" Wiehagen for 60 years. She was the loving mother of Vicki Tougher, Wendy Mulroy and the late Gary (surviving spouse, Cindy) Yankowski and stepmother of Scott Wiehagen. Janice was blessed with six grandchildren: Haley Tougher, Ryan and Riley Mulroy, Michael (Heather) Yankowski, Alex Yankowski and Perris Wiehagen. She also was the great-grandmother of Cole and Lily. Janice was the sister of Marian Bolf and the late Elwood Reffner.

Janice was a proud 1960 graduate of North Braddock Scott High School and, in the 1980s, served as a member of the School Board of the General Braddock School District.

For her career, Janice was a caregiver. Initially, she was a stay-at-home mom, caring for her children. After raising her children, she became a Certified Nurse's Assistant and worked at the former Eileen Jordan Home in North Versailles and the former Hamilton Hills in Turtle Creek where she also became a Supervisor. But then the family called and she shifted her care-giving to them, as a stay-at-home grandma, helping to raise her grandchildren in their early years.

In her spare time, Janice was known for keeping an immaculate home both inside and out. Cleaning and dusting, planting flowers, tending her gardens and doing yardwork were other extensions of her care-giving nature. Janice was lured by Fudd to try fishing at Lake Erie and she became hooked on fishing for Steelhead trout. She also enjoyed a visit to a casino.

The Funeral and Service for Janice will be private to her family. She will be entombed at Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
