JEAN (KEEL) BOLEKY Obituary

Emsworth, PA - On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, Jean (Keel) Boleky of Emsworth, passed away peacefully at the age of 91. Born on November 21, 1933, to the late Leo F. and Eugenia M (Brunner) Keel, she spent her life in Pittsburgh, almost all of it in the suburb of Emsworth. Jean was the eldest of four children, older sister to the late Irene Keel, Richard Keel, and David Keel.

After graduating from St. Benedict High School, she pursued nursing at Mercy Hospital and served as a nurse for Bell Telephone and an eye surgeon for years before marrying the late Charles Boleky in 1961, and having six sons together over the next 17 years. Caring for her boys was her passion, and she will be remembered as a loving mother who never stopped wanting to help with their needs and took great pride in the men they later became.

Jean was known throughout Emsworth and the Sacred Heart Catholic parish as a selfless giver. She was a lifelong churchgoer and even started a popular supper club in the basement of the church to raise money for the parish in the 1990's.

She is survived by her sons and their wives, Charles (Lisa) Boelcke, Thomas (Alissa) Boleky, David (Darla) Boleky, Paul (Kathi) Boleky, Kevin (Amanda) Boleky and Mark (Tricia) Boleky. Jean was heartbroken to lose her sister, Irene, to ALS in 1988, but she stayed close to her brothers and their families, Richard Keel, husband to Lottie and widower to his first wife, Mary Jane, father of Michelle, Renee, and John, and David Keel, husband to Renee and father to Patrick and Ryan, and Irene's children, James and Cathy.

Known as "Mimi," she also loved spending time with her 14 grandchildren, from oldest to youngest, Nicholas, Jackson, Samantha, Remi, Savannah, Wyatt, Max, Cullen, Natalie, Kenton, Gabriella, Sophia, and Henry, as well as the late Charles Francis. She also has a great-grandchild, Holly; and step-grandchildren, Collier, Andrew, Rikki, and Stephanie.

Friends will be received from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Friday, September 19, 2025, at LAWRENCE T. MILLER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 460 Lincoln Ave., Bellevue, PA 15202. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Regina Coeli Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 154 Orchard Avenue, Emsworth, PA 15202.
