JEAN

Jean Swearingen, 96, of Crafton Heights, passed into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, with her children by her side on August 10, 2025. Born July 31, 1929, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Ida Rossmann. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Jack Swearingen and her siblings, Evelyn Haynes and Fred Rossmann.

Jean worked as a security guard for the Pittsburgh Public Schools where she was known affectionately as Miss Jean. She enjoyed cleaning, playing cards with the neighborhood card club, and shopping. She loved time with her family vacationing in Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach. Jean collected purses, canned goods and butter. She was a beloved Nunny to her grandchildren.

Jean is the loving mother of Cheryl (Bill) Bodnar, Cindy Swearingen, Cathy (the late Larry) Swearingen, Carla (Jay) Batch. Adoring grandmother of Louis, Jessica, Russell, Kelsey (Patrick), John (Mallory), Casey, Jay (Ali), Ava, Daniel, John, and the late Christine. Great-grandmother of Brittany, Zach, Kala, Colten, Skyla, James, Jaxson, Madi, Landon, Cameron, and Kinsley. Great, great-grandmother to Michael, Ryan, Cara, Scarlett, and Javante.

There will be no viewing. Service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Church at Grove Farm, 249 Duff Road, Sewickley, PA 15143. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Coraopolis, PA.
