SERENA
JEFFREY LANCE
Jeffrey Lance Serena, 56, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, February 22 2026, after a courageous three-year battle with bile duct cancer. He faced his illness the same way he faced life — stubborn, fearless, and with just enough sarcasm to keep everyone on their toes.
Born on April 6, 1969, Jeff was a proud Irish redhead with a personality you simply couldn't ignore. He was quick-witted, sharp-tongued in the most lovable way, and had a sense of humor that could light up a room — or roast you in it. If you knew Jeff, you laughed. It was that simple.
Jeff proudly served his country in the United States Navy during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. He was assigned to VFA-192 and served aboard the USS Midway as an EA Aviation Electrician. His service during the Gulf War reflected his courage, dedication, and deep sense of duty. He carried that same loyalty and strength into every chapter of his life.
Beyond his military service, Jeff was a gifted artist and master stone carver. Entirely self-taught, he transformed stone into works of lasting beauty. His hands created what his heart envisioned. His art, like him, was bold, enduring, and impossible to overlook. Yet of all the things he built in this life, nothing meant more to him than his son, Casey — his greatest masterpiece.
He is the beloved husband of Kristin (Sillman) Serena for 14 wonderful years; loving father of Casey Serena; cherished son of Patricia and the late Andrew Serena; caring brother of Douglas, Scott, Chad (Mia), the late Kirk and the Andrew Serena, son-in-law of Wayne and Becky Sillman; brother-in-law of Scott (Stephanie) Sillman. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind countless friends who became family along the way.
Jeff will be remembered for his humor, his grit, his loyalty, his service, and his fierce love for the people in his life. He fought hard. He lived boldly. And he leaves behind stories that will be told — loudly and with laughter — for generations.
