JOAN E. CONTOSTA


Joan E. Contosta Palarino, of Allison Park, on Sunday, September 21, 2025. A creative artist, she taught art in the Plum Borough School District for 30 years after having been instrumental in developing a curriculum for art student teachers at Penn State University. She graduated from Carlow University with a Bachelor's degree in art and education and earned a Master's degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh.



Joan loved to travel and was especially moved by her trips to Africa. A warm and giving friend, she was always willing to help and to share with those around her. She was known throughout her neighborhood as she walked her dear friend and Golden Doodle, Buddy.



Beloved wife of the late John W. (Hodge) Palarino. She was also preceded in death by her father, Joseph F. Contosta; her mother, Jean A. Contosta; her brother, Joseph F. Contosta II; and her sister, Barbara Flanagan.
