JOAN (LEONARD)

Age 95, of Bethel Park, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Laura and Bert Leonard; and her husband, Ronald Goepfert. Surviving are her sons, Leonard Nickolay and Bradley (Colette) Goepfert; grandchildren, Lenny and Michelle Nickolay and Madeline Goepfert; as well as great-grandsons, Andrew and Preston Nickolay.

Joan was born on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1931, and grew up in the East Brookline area of Pittsburgh. She was proud to tell you that she graduated from Carrick High School in 1949. She cherished the life-long friendships she made there. She loved Bethel Park and her neighbors of 63 years. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Valentine Church for over 60 years and sang in the choir for 40 of those years.

Arrangements by BEINHAUER-CONNELL, 5120 West Library Ave., Bethel Park, PA 15102, 412-835-7940, where friends and family will be received on Tuesday, 9-11 a.m., at 11:30 a.m., a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Valentine Church, Our Lady of Hope Parish. A graveside service will immediately follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. The family will then host their guests for a luncheon reception in Joan's memory, as she wished.

The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the staff at The Pines of Mount Lebanon and Gateway Hospice. Their compassion and professionalism, along with the comfort they provided, was exceptional.
