JOHN E.

Age 79, passed away in the comfort of his home, on October 11, 2025. He is at peace knowing that he is to be rejoined with his loved ones in heaven. John spent his life embodying kindness, generosity, and a quiet strength that touched all who knew him.

He graduated from Westinghouse Memorial High School in Wilmerding and then went on to achieve an associate's degree in Criminology from Community College of Allegheny County. He used this degree to work in law enforcement for the state of Pennsylvania.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, John carried the values of service and duty throughout his life. His service during Vietnam earned him a Purple Heart. He continued this service, participating in the local VFW and American Legion.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, John was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A lifelong Steelers football fan, he never missed a game, sharing his passion with friends and family. He loved his family with all his heart, and enjoyed spending quality time with them. Each year he looked forward to the family trip to Geneva on the Lake, in Ohio.

John found solace in the great outdoors, spending countless hours hunting and fishing, always eager to share his adventures with anyone willing to join him. His love for nature was paralleled only by his devotion to his beloved dog, a faithful companion who brought him comfort and joy.

John is survived by his son, Patrick Turner; grandson, Eli Turner; brothers, Marc Turner (Pamela), Daniel Turner (Doris); sister, Deborah Turner (the late Karin); sister-in-law, Gerri Turner; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Louise; brother, Tim Turner; and his cherished dog, Taz.
