Of Pittsburgh, PA, died peacefully surrounded by family, on Friday, December 26, 2025. Son of the late John F. Kennedy and Marie Kennedy, John grew up in Greenfield and attended Central Catholic High School and Duquesne University. "Junior" was a multi-sport athlete, playing both basketball and baseball at the collegiate level. Beloved husband of 48 years to Rita (Modzelewski); proud father of Sean and Ryan (Michele); loving grandfather "Jack" to Connor, Maria and Dante. John was an avid golfer, and lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Duquesne Dukes, and Central Catholic Vikings. Family and friends welcome on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp. PA 15220. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, 330 Third Ave., Carnegie, PA 15106. Burial will be private to the family.
