JOHN ROSS CROMIE Of Garfield, on Saturday, April 17, 2021, age 68. Longtime partner of Ann Shields; brother of Jean R. Holland (the late Bill), James V. Cromie (the late Maureen), Sue Hillgrove (John), Robert D. Cromie (Margie), and the late Janet Cromie and Doris Ann Cromie; son of the late James and Ellen Cromie; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends received at McCABE BROS., INC. FUNERAL HOME, 5300 Penn Avenue, Bloomfield on Tuesday, 2-4 and 6-8 pm, where a Service will be held on Wednesday at 12 noon. Interment with military honors to follow at Allegheny Cemetery.     He often said that he was not conceited he was CONVINCED. He could always make me smile and he could tell a joke or a story like no other. I competed against him in football and walked with him as a friend. We have memories and adventures that would entertain, but are better left for another time. John was special!

    My Dad, Tom Malia, and John were best friends since they were kids. I’ve always called him my Uncle. I will cherish all of the memories I have from summers on his boats, Fourth of July celebrations at the Frey’s, and the Oddball’s bowling league. I’m sure Uncle Johnny and my dad are together again enjoying some beers. Many hugs and prayers to Ann and the rest of his family.
