BURKE III
JOSEPH EDWIN
Joseph Edwin Burke III, 78, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Born in Pittsburgh, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Sara Burke. Joe was the devoted husband of Joanne "Praksti" Burke and the proud father of Joni (Vico) Innocenti, Jennifer (Mike) Kosanovic, Jessica (Tommy) LoPresti, and Jacqueline (Darren) DeMario. He was a loving and cherished Pappy to Vico, Regan, Noah, Giavonna, Rhys, Emory, Ethan, and Ryder, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Debby (Tom) Hayes, Jim (Sue) Burke, and Michael (Lynda) Burke. He was preceded in death by his brother, George Burke. Joe also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Navy, carrying the values of service, integrity, and dedication with him throughout his life. His unwavering faith in God was the cornerstone of who he was and guided the kindness, humility, and gratitude he showed every day. Known for his incredible work ethic, Joe approached every task with determination and pride. Yet what truly set him apart was his outlook on life. He found joy in the simplest things and believed that being surrounded by his family and living his faith made him the richest man in the world. He never complained, always searched for the good in every situation, and had an extraordinary ability to make those around him feel loved, supported, and at peace. Joe proudly referred to himself as a "coffeeholic" and never started a day without a cup of coffee in hand. One of his favorite routines was ending each evening beside Joanne, watching television together and enjoying the comfort of one another's company. His warm smile could light up any room, and his gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Above all else, Joe loved his family unconditionally. He was their greatest supporter, and their biggest fan. He took immense pride in his daughters and grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. Joe's legacy is one of unwavering faith, unconditional love, quiet strength, and selfless generosity. He taught those around him to find gratitude in life's simplest blessings, to work hard, to love deeply, and to always look for the good. His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but the example he set and the love he gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
