JOSEPH P. "ROCK"

Of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 16, 2026, reunited with his beloved wife, Judith C. Roccasano. He was the cherished son of the late Joseph D. Roccasano and Elizabeth Bevil; and brother of the late Rose Laffey.

Joe was a devoted family man, proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and loyal friend. Father of Rachelle (David) Kendrick and Renae (Marc) Sherwood; bonus father of Pat (Amy) Coughlin, Mike (Lauren) Kaye, Vince (Tracy) Coughlin, and Judiann (Stephen) Johns; grandfather of Craig (Samantha) and Kodiak Kendrick; bonus grandfather of 13; great-grandfather of Colt and Marlena. Also survived by his nieces, Joanne (Jean-Claude) Abed and family, and Dawn (Steve) Hinkle and family, and many dear friends and loved ones.

A lifelong resident of Penn Hills, Joe attended Penn Hills Baptist Church and retired from Automated Entrance Systems. He was also a proud member of Steamfitters Local 449 and the Universal Riders Club.

Joe had a passion for classic cars, Harley-Davidsons, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He won numerous car show awards with his beloved Mustang, "The Quarter Horse," including the honor of Grand National Champion.

Known for his larger-than-life personality, Joe never met a stranger. He loved making people laugh, telling jokes, and sharing good times with family and friends. His bond with his best friend of more than 60 years, Mike Pellegrino, was filled with endless laughter, teasing, and unforgettable memories.

Joe will be remembered for his humor, loyalty, kindness, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. As many would say with a smile, "If Joe loved you, you knew it." His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Friends and family received at WILLIAM F. GROSS FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 11735 Frankstown Rd. (at Rodi Rd.), Penn Hills; on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at Penn Hills Baptist Church, 323 Hulton Road, Verona, PA 15147, at 11 a.m. A private burial will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
