Of Forest Hills, age 89, passed away peacefully, on Monday, August 4, 2025. She is survived by her children, Gwen DiPietro (Phil), Sally Shepherd and Michael Shepherd; grandchildren, Alex de Poix (Jody), Andrew DiPietro, Julia DiPietro, Joe DiPietro; great-grandchildren, Elsa de Poix, Lucy de Poix and Jack de Poix. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Shepherd; parents, Charles and Fredetta Day; her sister, Virginia Valdiserri; and her beloved collies. Judy handed down many skills to her children and grandchildren: cooking, gardening, creative problem-solving, crafting a beautiful home and caring for family and community. She was a fierce shepherdess. Friends and family will be received at Beulah Presbyterian Church, Historical Chapel, 2500 McCrady Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15235, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., for the Memorial Service.
