JUNE ANN

June Ann Schmitt, age 94, of Bridgeville, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harvey and Elizabeth Aufderheide.

June began working at a young age, starting her career as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone. While working at Chesterfield Dry Cleaners, she met her husband, Paul Schmitt. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. After retiring as a telephone operator for Presby, Eye and Ear, and Children's Hospital, June and Paul made their home in Deep Creek Lake, Maryland, where many happy memories were created.

Family was the center of June's life, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to those she loved. She enjoyed bowling, playing group solitaire and bingo. June was active and full of energy throughout her life. She enjoyed snowmobiling in the mountains of Deep Creek Lake, Maryland, during the winter months, and boating with family and friends during the summer. Music brought her great joy, especially singing at church. Her birthday, celebrated each year on Christmas Eve, was one of her favorite traditions, filled with carols, bingo, and time spent with loved ones.

June was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 75-plus years, Paul Schmitt; her son, Paul; and her cherished grandchild, Nikki Schmitt. She is survived by her loving children, Debra (James) Jance, Brian Schmitt, Janis (Ray) Senneway; her treasured grandchildren, Casey, Chelsey, Luke, Amy, Michael, Matthew, Katie, Leah, Jason, and Kayla; her adored great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ethan, Charlie, Hunter, Gia, Avi, Nova, Nox, Leo, Evan, Roman, Colson, Braelynn, Bennett, and Brantley; extended family, Mary El (Gary) Bugielski and Anne (Michael) Pacilio; and her dear friend, Mary Jo Andrykovitch.
