JUNE M. FARRELL Obituary

FARRELL

JUNE M.

June M. Farrell, age 92, of Ruther Glen, Virginia, formerly of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, transitioned from this life on October 31, 2025. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Adele Massaccie (Peroni) and was sister to the late Mary Evelyn Gabrielcik. She was married to the late Anthony Farrell and enjoyed family life and 58 years of marriage. She is survived by two daughters, Lynn Mowry Brown of Annapolis, Maryland and Jan Kosek of Houston, Pennsylvania. June cherished her seven grandchildren (Holly Woodward (Mowry), Clint Mowry, Kristen Douglas (Kosek), Dana Kosek, Anthony Kosek, Adam Kosek, and June Kosek. She also welcomed eight great-grandchildren, whom she treasured, and many nieces and nephews.

June graduated from Brentwood High School in 1951, where she studied business and honed her artistic skills. After raising her children, June's talent in graphic illustration conveyed smoothly to a newfound occupation/passion in mechanical drawing and design. She designed and oversaw the construction of successful coal scrubbing plants, among other projects.

She was an active member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Ruther Glen, Virginia, serving over the years on the parish council, food bank, garden, prayer shawl, and building committees.

June was a great cook and had one of her recipes - Aunt Junie's Tuscan Soup - appear on the menu of a famous California restaurant! Her creativity was further evident in her beautiful home, her clothing, and everything she did. Her hobbies included photography, illustrations of all types, sewing, needlepointing, hand painting ceramics, gardening, and shopping for beautiful things. She loved to travel, and her adventures took her throughout the US, Mexico, the Caribbean, numerous destinations in Eastern and Western Europe, Morocco, Israel, South Korea, Japan, and China.

She was a hard worker; all-in for any project she took on. June's commitment to family and especially her devotion to her Lord and Savior was quite admirable. It is no coincidence that she met Jesus on All Saints' Eve. Family and friends will, however, miss her ever-cheery disposition and sometimes cheeky sense of humor. The Lord grant His peace, dear mother and friend, until we meet again.

A celebration of her life will be held at BEINHAUER-FRYER FUNERAL HOME (412-221-3800), 430 Washington Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017, on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 1:15 p.m. in Corpus Christi Parish, Holy Child Church, 212 Station St. Bridgeville, PA 15017. Burial to follow in The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mustard Seed Ministries in Jamaica would be greatly appreciated.
