KATHLEEN BARCUS


Age 87, of Bethel Park, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, surrounded by family. Daughter of the late Glenn W. Barcus and Catherine (Walsh); and stepdaughter of the late Albert Biertempfel. Beloved mother of Elizabeth Ann (Dan) McClelland, William E. Lind, Jr., Roxanne (Ron) Sugar, John J. (Cindy) Lind and Leonard Lind. Dear grandmother of Lindsay Herforth DeRisio, Daniel J. McClelland, James P. Sugar, Savannah Lind Sugar, Joseph T. (Cheyenne) Sugar and Heather K. Lind. Loving great-grandmother of Molly Sugar, Amelia Sugar and Kiley J. Cassell. Former wife of the late William Edward Lind, Sr. Sister of Victoria Pobicki and the late Robert Biertempfel.



Kathy was a faithful member of Saint Thomas More Church, Resurrection Parish for over 40 years, where she was active with many church functions. She was a devoted mother to her children during their nurturing years and in adulthood. She was a registered nurse at Western Psychiatric Hospital and was active in the union. After retirement, Kathy worked as a private duty nurse with The Sisters of Saint Francis of the Providence of God convent. Kathy was a lifelong animal lover who volunteered for many years at the Pittsburgh Zoological Society.
