UNITAS

KATHRYN HARRIS LaNEVE

Age 90, of Zelienople, formerly Gibsonia, died on March 28, 2025. Born on October 31, 1934, in East Liverpool, Ohio and raised in East Liverpool, OH, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Harris and Hilda Meeks Harris.

Beloved wife of the late William V. Unitas. Loving mother of Dr. Ralph J. LaNeve (Carol), David M. LaNeve, Linda Fleming (late Richard), Daniel M. LaNeve, Dr. Matthew D. LaNeve (Dayna), Lt. General Christopher C. LaNeve (Kimberly), Gordon J. Unitas, Julia Unitas, Keith W. Unitas, and Michele Unitas. Sister of Mary Lou Bernstein and the late Donald Harris, Sondra (Poole) and Melvin Harris. Also survived by 26 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Friends received 12-2 p.m. at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. A blessing service and interment will follow in Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery.

Mom was a volunteer with Contact Pittsburgh for 20 years, worked in the offices of Tom Henry Chevrolet for over 20 years. She loved being with family whether watching and cheering on her grandchildren in sports, vacationing at the beach with a good book in hand, and being the first on the dance floor at celebrations. Her only vice was a strawberry milkshake or strawberry ice cream to savor.

But most of all mom loved mothering and was known as "mom" and "nana" to many.
