Kenneth Jaros passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife and partner of 45 years, Karen Hoesch; his niece, Lisa Jaros Edgeworth (Gary); and his great-niece and great-nephews. Ken held a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. He retired from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health, where he was an Assistant Professor, served as Director of the Public Health/Social Work Training Program in Maternal and Child Health, and was Associate Chair of the Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences. Services are private. Family suggests donations to the Kenneth J. Jaros and Karen Hoesch fund at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh or the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy.
