LEONARD "LENNY" BREZARICH Obituary

BREZARICH

LEONARD "LENNY"

Of Chalfant, age 88, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Lenny was the son of the late Marko and late Catherine (Thomas) Brezarich and was the longtime companion of the late Sheridan Pearcey.

He is survived by his beloved siblings, Thomas (late Gretchen) Brezarich of WA, Barbara "Babs" (late Ernie) Farkas of Chalfant, Margaret (late Bob) Kreisel of Penn Hills, Josephine "Josie" (Chuck) Curran of Murrysville, and John (Karen) Brezarich of Murrysville.

Lenny was also preceded in death by his siblings, Frank "Buddy" Brezarich, Edward Brezarich, David (surviving spouse, Rose) Brezarich, Mark (surviving spouse, Michaelene) Brezarich, Mary Ellen "Mitzie" (late John) Godula, and Catherine (late Ken) Bowersox.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins; as well as his pet parrot of 50 years, Dingus McGee.

Lenny was a 1955 graduate of North Braddock Scott High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served predominantly in the Transportation Department at Ft. Eustis, TX. During his time at Ft. Eustis, he played on the fort's football team. A highlight for Lenny was playing on the team that defeated the U.S. Marine Corps team in the Missile Bowl.

After his military service, Lenny was accepted into the Trades Training Apprenticeship program at Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh and attended Westinghouse Night School. He completed his career at Westinghouse as a supervisor with 32 years of service to the company.

For years Lenny owned a 21-foot day cruiser boat and loved to tour on Pittsburgh's three rivers. His most famous trip was one he took with his brothers, Eddie and John. They embarked on their journey from Pittsburgh, with their destination being New Orleans. They traveled as far as Vicksburg, MS, when unfortunately the engine failed. Undeterred to get to New Orleans, they rented a car for the final leg of their excursion.

Lenny also enjoyed trips to Florida to visit Sheridan, golfing, and spending time at his cabin near Driftwood, PA, on the Sinnemahoning River.

All are welcome on Tuesday from 2-6pm at PATRICK T. LANIGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, 412-824-8800, where a blessing service will be held on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Lenny will be laid to rest with military honors in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date.
