LINDA LEE MONACO Obituary

MONACO

LINDA LEE

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Linda Lee Monaco, who left this world peacefully, on March 14, at the age of 79.

Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister whose love shaped the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and comfort, where family always came first. While Linda was born in Illinois, she made Pittsburgh her second home. She had a remarkable way of making each person feel special, whether through her gentle advice, her steady presence, or the countless acts of kindness she shared every day.

As a mother, she guided her daughter with patience, strength, and unconditional love. As a grandmother, she found immense joy in the little moments — storytelling, holiday traditions, and cheering on every milestone with pride. To her siblings, she was a lifelong friend and confidant, sharing a bond rooted in childhood memories and enduring love.

Linda had a generous spirit and a heart that welcomed everyone. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, scrapbooking, Pilates and genealogy research, but her greatest joy was always her family. Her wisdom, humor, and compassion will continue to live on through the people she loved so deeply.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Michele (Jim) Riley; grandchildren, Megan (Trey) Wertz and Jessica (Monte) Mellott; great-grandchildren, Jane Wertz and Caden Wertz; siblings, Jan Nesemeier, Sue Kish, Jim Poppenhouse; and many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory always.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Fred Monaco.

Linda worked as a HR specialist at Fischer Scientific, Hyatt Hotels, Alzed/Olsten, and Right Answers.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her love will remain with us forever.

Visitation will be held on March 28, from 11 A.M. until time of service at 12 noon, at NEELY FUNERAL HOME, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw.
