LOIS JEAN (MEDOCK)

Lois Jean (Medock) Sabo was called home on July 21, after 93 years of life. Originally from Etna, Pennsylvania, Lois was born on April 2, 1932, to her parents, Emma and Michael, who preceded her in death. She grew up in a loving home with her family, which included her brother, Michael Medock Jr. (Sandy), who preceded her in death. In 1960, Lois married the love of her life, Robert Stephen Sabo. Together, Lois and Bob built a beautiful life and home, which included their commitment to the community, the Upper St. Clair fire department and running their own business, Sabo's ARCO. Lois continued to be a loving wife until Bob's death in 2006, after over 46 years of marriage. Lois was also a dedicated federal employee for over 40 years at the MSHA facility in South Park, Pennsylvania. During these years, she was loved and respected by her colleagues, who became her second family. She was always dedicated to making sure everyone had what they needed and performed every action with love. Lois was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Everyone who entered her home lovingly knew her as "gram" and would be welcomed by the sounds of Hallmark movies or Fox News. She never missed a chance to be at her grandchildren's events or games, with the basketball games being her favorite of them all. She gave her whole self to support her family and loved every moment she spent with them, especially when she was cooking for family gatherings. You never left hungry from Gram's house and were always guaranteed leftovers to last you a week. Lois was a strong, kind, loving and opinionated woman. To know her and love her was a privilege shared by many as she opened her home and heart to everyone who walked through her doors. Lois is survived by her three daughters, Karen Sabo, Leigh Lorenz (Brian) and Lori Moran (Andrew); as well as her five grandchildren, Michael Moore (Carly), Lauren O'Connor (Josh), Angeline Lorenz-Shoemaker (Zach), Patrick Moran and Maxwell Lorenz. She is also survived by her niece and nephew as well as her great-grandchild, Chase. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Family and friends welcome at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, PA, 15317, 724 941-3211, Friday, 4-8p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Louise DeMarillac Church, St. Catherine Laboure Parish. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
