LOIS T.
Lois T. Sperl, 94, of Pittsburgh, passed away on October 4, 2025.
Lois was raised in Pittsburgh's South Side neighborhood by parents, John and Josephine McDonough. She was a graduate of St. Michael's High School.
Lois was happily married for 52 years to her husband Edward L. Sperl, Sr. The two were known to dance the night away and impressed many with their polka and jitterbug. She worked at GNC in vitamin sales for several years, however, her most rewarding vocation was being a mother. Her greatest joy in life was raising her children. Later in life she would be just as passionate about her role as grandmother and great-grandmother. She also spent her time volunteering at St. Gabriel's and was involved in the Christian Mothers group and the Senior Citizens Club.
Lois was a loving mother to Theresa "Terri" M. Booth (Ted Swartzlander), Christine M. Sperl, Kathleen F. Koestline (the late William), Deborah Babor (David), the late Edward L. Sperl, Jr., and the late Susan Bauer; sister to Josephine Schneider and the late Francis McDonough, William McDonough, John A. McDonough, Jr., Dennis McDonough, Mary E. Walsh, and Joseph McDonough; loving grandmother to David Booth (Alexis), Joshua Koestline (Katie), Jessica Tucker (Jeremy), Adrian Sperl; and cherished great-grandmother to Jackson Booth, Olivia Booth, Jonah Tucker, Hendrix Koestline and Elowen Koestline.
Lois will be remembered as an outgoing person who made friends easily and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends are welcome to join for visitation on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pittsburgh, PA. 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., on October 8, 2025, at St. Gabriel's Church, 5200 Greenridge Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
