LOUIS F.

Louis F. Smykal, age 86, of Robinson Township, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 following a brief illness. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, one of three children of the late Louis Smykal and Lillian ( Kozar) Smykal.

Lou was a graduate of North Catholic High School, a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and a retired welder from Duquesne Light. Known as "The Amazing Old Camper," he loved spending time in the Laurel Mountains with his family enjoying campfires and Coors Light. Lou could never get enough of his Pittsburgh sports teams.

On October 16, 1964 Lou married the late Eileen Carey. Lou and Eileen had three children. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kelly Hibbs. Surviving are his son Mark Smykal (Diane) of Washington, PA; and daughter Kimberly Smykal of Ambridge, PA.

Lou had four grandchildren: Shane, Paige, Samuel and Vincent. Also surviving are his sister Marlene Satira and her husband James of Charlottsville, Virginia; brother Ronald Smykal and his wife Laurel of Ligonier, PA; and brother-in-law Joseph Eisenreich and his wife Janet of Kennedy Township, PA.

Relatives and friends received Monday, July 15, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, 334 Forest Grove Rd., Coraopolis (Kennedy Twp.) PA., 15108. Funeral prayer Tuesday at 9:15AM at the funeral home, Mass of Christian Burial to follow 10 AM in Archangel Gabriel Parish, Holy Trinity Church, 5718 Steubenville Pike, McKees Rocks, PA., 15136.
