LOUIS J.

Of Ross Twp., passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026. Born July 29, 1933, in the Northside of Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Joseph and Anna (Vegh) Schurer. Beloved husband of 61 years to the late Lois Schurer; loving father of Janice M. Huwe and the late Kurt J. Schurer (surviving, Ivania); brother of the late Eleanor Shaner, the late John Schurer, the late Anna (Wappler) Ziel, and the late Joseph Schurer; proud grandpap of Joseph D. Huwe, John L. Huwe (Kim), Elise M. Huwe, and Joseph F. and Maria I. Schurer; great-grandpap of Samuel J. Huwe; also survived by loving nieces and nephews. Louis was a proud graduate of North Catholic High School and Carnegie Tech. He enjoyed a long career at Edgewater Steel Corp. Upon retirement, he was an active member of St. Teresa of Avila Church, volunteering at countless church festivals and fish frys. Friends received Thursday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6 p.m., until time of service at 7:30 p.m., at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 806 Perry Hwy., Pgh., PA 15229.
