Luca Elliot Scheiwer, born October 23, 2023, homegoing, May 24, 2025.

Born to Kiera Turman and Zachary Scheiwer, in Pittsburgh, PA, Luca was a gift. Due to health challenges at birth, his first eight months of life were spent in Children's Hospital. Here he was undeniably loved by all he encountered. After receiving a heart transplant on April 22, 2024, his heartiversary, Luca, our heart warrior, embraced life anew and came home shortly after.

He enjoyed typical toddler activities with spinners at the top of the list closely followed by his DJ table, peek-a-boo, and his sliding board! His favorite movies, Moana and Encanto, were on automatic repeat almost everywhere he went. With a dazzling smile and captivating eyes (those lashes), he could melt your heart in a minute; Luca always knew how to get what he wanted.

After a brief illness, Luca passed peacefully in his mother's arms, surrounded by his father, grandmothers, aunt and uncle. However, his story does not end here; Luca became a hero. A child who was a transplant recipient became a donor and his legacy lives on as he was able to also donate to research.

Luca is survived by his mother, Kiera; father, Zack; grandparents, Lisa, the late Mark; grandparents, Melissa and Billy; uncle, Deion (Kayla); aunt, Chelsey (Devin); cousins, Raegan and Myles; and numerous extended family members, friends, and supporters globally.

The family will receive family and friends at BEINHAUER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, Friday, May 30, 2025. Family only from 12-2 p.m.; and public viewing from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Burial/Service, Saturday, May 31, 2025, 10:30 a.m. Interment Private.
