LUCY KATE
Lucy Kate Albrecht, 62, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away on August 12, 2025. She was at peace in her home, surrounded by her family.
Born in Mt. Lebanon to Darrell and Lucia Albrecht, Lucy experienced the loss of her parents early in life and was welcomed into the home of the loving Klaber family from her church, gaining the love of four siblings and the guidance of two devoted parents, who remained central to her world.
Lucy earned her BA in sociology from the University of Rochester and worked in fashion retail, becoming a manager at Nordstrom in San Diego before embracing her most treasured role as a mother. After returning to Mt. Lebanon with her family in the early 2000s, she began a long and valued tenure as the office manager at Ocmet, Inc., where her dedication and warmth left a lasting mark. During this time, she also reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Scot Stevenson, who became her loving partner and brought joy and companionship to her life.
She is survived by her children, James Tucker Vento and Lucia (David) Vento Kirk; her siblings, Beth (Gus) Succop of Charlotte, Susan (David) Burke of Ann Arbor, Katherine (Theodore) Cox of Round Pond, Douglas (Joelle) Klaber, and Andy (Katie) Klaber of Pittsburgh.
Lucy's happiest days were often by the water, walking the rocky shores of Round Pond, ME, or sailing on Lake Erie with her family. Music was a constant companion, and she loved to dance to Bruce Springsteen or sing along to Sting. She volunteered with the Humane Society of Pittsburgh, walking dogs with her daughter, and brought a natural warmth, humor, and kindness to everyone she met. Above all, her greatest joy was her family, and she will be remembered for her open heart, her gift for making every person feel cared for and at home; for being everyone's favorite sister, cousin, aunt, and mother.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Southminster Presbyterian Church, Mt. Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Pittsburgh or the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.
