LUISA R. (ZAMORA)
Age 84, of South Park, originally of Santiago, Chile, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Joseph Mann, who preceded her in 2020; loving mother of Louisa (Jim) Gilchrist, Elizabeth (Charles) Staskiewicz, Stephanie (Sean) Creehan, Michael Mann, and Heather (David) Vogel; devoted grandma of Lindsay (Jason) Bajek, Shane (Kaleen) Gilchrist, Cody (Gabrielle) Gilchrist, Chelsea (Jacob) Rissmiller, Sarah Staskiewicz, Blane Staskiewicz, Mackenzie (Dustin) Roux, Madison (Taylor) Lazenga, Morgan (Curt) Moore, Mitchell Creehan, Mason Vogel, and Preston Vogel; adoring great-grandma "Grandma Rosie" of Layla and Eva Bajek, Kane and Keegan Gilchrist, Rowan and Remy Gilchrist, Aurora Rissmiller, Idris, Emile, and Virgil Roux, Greer Lazenga, Whitton Moore, and three on the way; and dear sister of the late Jorge (the late Zunilda) Valenzuela and the late Gladys Y. Zamora. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria A. Zamora and Luis Zamora. Luisa is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
Luisa and Stephen had a fairy-tale love story, which lasted more than 60 years. It was love at first sight when they met while Stephen was stationed in Chile during his time in the U.S. Coast Guard. At age 20, Luisa first arrived in the United States, having left the life she knew behind for love. As she stepped off the train in Pittsburgh to meet her husband's family for the very first time, she had the look of a beautiful, glamourous movie star. Soon after, Luisa became an American citizen, an accomplishment she was most proud. Luisa and Stephen went on to build a beautiful life together. Luisa embraced her new country and new language with vigor, while infusing her proud Chilean background into her life, especially in her cooking. Luisa was a wonderful cook and hostess; she passed down many of her Chilean recipes, including her famous empanadas, to her children and grandchildren. She knew her life was blessed. In addition to spending time with her husband and family, Luisa loved gardening and caring for her pets, especially her beloved cats, the late Gato and Maxine. The family takes some solace in knowing that Luisa and Stephen have been joyously reunited in heaven.
