MARGARET A. (BRACCI)


Passed away on August 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness. She was born on January 25, 1945, in Pittsburgh, to the late Eli and Anna (Prosperi) Bracci. A lifelong Pittsburgh resident, she graduated from St. Paul's Cathedral High School. On August 14, 1965, she married Thomas J. Gaetano. Together they raised three children, Thomas, Jr., Michael, and Teresa. After several years as a stay-at-home mother, she then attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. After graduating in 1989, she worked at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh for 20 years until her retirement. After retirement, she enjoyed reading and traveling, and was a passionate Pittsburgh sports fan, but most of all, enjoyed being a loving Nonna to her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Thomas; children, Thomas, Jr., Michael (Cathie), and Teresa (Eric); as well as her grandchildren, Nicholas Gaetano, Emily Spielvogle, Julie Gaetano, Ava Spielvogle, and Paul Spielvogle. She is also survived by her sister, Celia Hoyek (Nadim); nephew, Eli Hoyek (Katy); niece, Maya Hoyek; nieces, Jennifer Jenkins (Kenny) and Vanessa Jankowski (Rob); nephews, Daniel and Matthew Bracci; and also her aunt, Loretta Kapp. Predeceased by her brother, Ralph Bracci. Family and friends welcome Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 412-563-2800, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., PA 15220. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish, St. Catherine of Sienna Church, Beechview. Everyone please meet at church. Burial will be private to the family. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which was a cause dear to her heart. "Eternal rest grant to her oh Lord, and perpetual light shine upon her."
