MARGARET A.

Margaret A. Gentile, 85, of Valencia, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Pittsburgh on June 7, 1941, she was the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret (Schenk) McGovern.

For 64 years, Peggy shared a remarkable marriage with her beloved husband, Robert F. Gentile. Together they built not just a home, but a life centered on love, loyalty, laughter, and family. Through every joy and every challenge, they stood side by side, creating a home where everyone felt welcomed, cared for, and loved. Margaret took tremendous pride in her home, making it a place where family gathered, memories were made, and love was always present.

Nothing in Peggy's life meant more to her than her family. She was the loving mother of Jeffrey Gentile (Carolann) and Bradley Gentile (Nicole), and there was never a question how deeply she loved her boys. She celebrated their successes, comforted them through life's disappointments, and remained their biggest supporter through every stage of their lives. Her love, guidance, and quiet strength helped shape the men they became, and that gift will remain with them forever.

She was also a proud and devoted Grandma to Chelsea, Reece, and Brynn, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. She treasured every visit, every laugh, and every milestone they shared together.

Peggy found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She adored her beloved dogs, who were never just pets but cherished members of the family. She had a gift for gardening, creating beautiful flowers and a yard that reflected the same care and patience she showed those she loved. She also enjoyed cross-stitching and embroidery, spending countless hours creating beautiful keepsakes that her family will treasure for generations.

Those who knew Peggy knew she wasn't afraid to speak her mind. She had a spirited personality, a quick wit, and just enough spice to keep everyone on their toes. She was genuine, honest, and fiercely loyal to the people she loved. Her strength and authenticity were part of what made her so special, and her family wouldn't have wanted her any other way.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Kathleen Fiorito.

To know Peggy was to know a woman whose greatest joy came not from what she had, but from the people she loved. If you had asked her what her greatest accomplishment in life was, she would never have talked about herself. She simply would have pointed to her family. She measured her life by the happiness of her husband, her children, and her grandchildren, and she gave them the greatest gift she could-her unconditional love.

Peggy will be remembered as a devoted wife, an extraordinary mother, a proud grandmother, and a loyal friend. Her kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. While her family will miss her beyond words, they find comfort knowing that her love remains with them-in the home she cherished, in the flowers that bloom each spring, in every carefully stitched keepsake she created, and in the countless memories that will forever bring smiles through tears.

Her greatest legacy is not simply the years she lived, but the love she gave so freely. That love lives on in the hearts of those who were blessed to call her wife, Mom, Grandma, and friend. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Thank you, Mom, for your endless love, your strength, your guidance, and the countless sacrifices you made for us. We will carry your love with us always until we meet again.
