MARGARET H. (DEET)
Margaret "Peggy" Cupp of Mt. Lebanon passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on January 22, 2026. Peggy was born October 20, 1941, to the late Burton and Helen (Conway) Deet of Lawrenceville. She attended Ursuline Academy from 1948-1960 and maintained her friendships throughout the years. Upon graduation, she enrolled in St. Francis Hospital School of Radiography and was one of the first females to successfully complete the program. Post-graduation she was hired by St. Francis Hospital, which is where she met Ken, the love of her life, and the two soon married.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Cupp, Sr. The beloved mother to Michelle (Paul) Garlitz, the late Kenneth Cupp, Jr., Eric (Anna) Cupp, and Ryan (Jennifer) Cupp. Sister to the late JoAnn (Robert) Norcross and Michael (Veronica) Deet. Grandmother to Jackson, Peter, Margaret, and Charles Garlitz, Linnea and Sofia Cupp, and Audrey, Cameron, and Julian Cupp.
Peggy's family grew over the years through a career in babysitting. Peggy and Ken enjoyed their friendships on Fernwood Ave. and later those when living on Academy. She was known as the "Candy Lady" and the "Party Planner". She affectionately referred to everyone as "baby" and her extended family continued to grow over the years. Her most important roles were those of mom and grandma and she took great joy in cooking and nurturing her family. She was a great listener, but also so funny and knew how to make everyone laugh.
Family and friends will be welcomed, Sunday, March 15, 2026, 1-5 p.m. with a memorial service at 4:30 p.m. at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., PA 15220.
