BALL

MARGARET "PEG"

Age 83, of Lincoln Borough, Pennsylvania, left this world peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 13, 2026.

Peg was the beloved mother of Cheryl (Kopcho) Hirsh (the late Scott), Terri (Kopcho) Dewitt (Chris) and Stephen Kopcho. Loving grandmother of Christian (Lizzy) Hirsh, Taylor Dewitt and Hunter Kopcho. Loving great-grandmother of Carter Hirsh; and loving grandmother to her furry gal, Marley. She was also an aunt to many nieces and nephews; and she will be missed by cousins, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Merville Ball; mother, Mary (Lydon) Ball; and sister, Irene (Ball) Ambrose (Joe).

Peg Ball, River, Grandma, was a wonderful human being. She was full of love, kindness, compassion, laughter and always up for a fun time. Everyone who knew her loved her and loved to spend time with her. She treasured every day and spending time with her family was the most important thing to her.

She graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School in 1960 and Carlow University in 1990. She dedicated over three decades working at Bombardier Transportation Company in West Mifflin. After retirement, she spent her days with her grandchildren, by watching them grow and taking them on many adventures as they grew up in her presence.

Whether it was a birthday, holiday, Irish parade, swim party or bonfire, Peg wanted to always be surrounded by her family and friends for all the fun. She loved everything Irish. She even named the family boat "The Queen Emerald Dinkly." She would spend time boating on the river. She enjoyed the St. Patrick's Day Parade, and even celebrated halfway way to St. Patrick's Day with a picnic and bonfire, which became a special tradition each year.

Peg Ball had a beautiful sense of family, always bringing us together to celebrate life. You could always find her in her "River House." The door was always open, and her ear would bend to listen to you. She would never hesitate to offer a helping hand to family and friends. Her heart and hands were always open.

She was an amazing woman. She left a piece of herself in those that knew and loved her. The angels may have taken her away, only for Peg to continue her ways throughout this world. She would wish us to remember her unselfish love and caring heart and how she lived a great life. She would want us to celebrate her life and tell all her stories forever.

Family and friends are welcome to gather for Visitation from 1-8 p.m., on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
