MARIA "MARY" (RUSNAK)

Our dear, loving mother, Maria "Mary" (Rusnak) Warholak, has been called to her heavenly home. Formerly of Bridgeville, she was the only child of Maria (Marciś) Rusnak and Gejza Rusnak. She was born in Vlachovo, in the former Czechoslovakia; and at nine years old, immigrated to the United States with her mother to reunite with her father.

Maria was a bright student and hard worker, who graduated as Salutatorian from South Fayette High School.

Married to Metro "Mit" Warholak from Carnegie, they raised two daughters, Maria (George) Stepanovich and Teresa Warholak.

Maria retired from the VAS Department at Mayview State Hospital after 21 years of service.

Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, gardening, traveling, and writing letters. She was active at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, assisting with making bread, pirohy, and holupchi.

Maria loved all things Slovak, especially the Sue and Rudy Ondrejko's Slovak Radio Program. She returned to Slovakia twice to visit family and was proud of her heritage.

A very special thanks to Gallagher Hospice Nurse, Angela Garfield.

Memory of her is eternal.
