MARILYN "MINDY" (VENT)

Age 72, of Mt. Lebanon, originally of Kittanning, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025.

Mindy was the beloved wife of 52 years to Robert "Shep" Shepard; loving mom of Sara (Michael Gremba) Shepard, and Alison (Caron Crooke) Shepard; adoring, doting, spoiling Gram of Kristian and Henry; cherished sister of Barbara (Wally) Lorence (née Vent), and Paula (Rex) Jones (née Vent); dear sister-in-law of John (Sandy), Larry (Ann), and Dennis (Lisa) Shepard; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. Mindy is also survived by her beloved dogs, Penny, Bonnie, Clyde, Frieda; and cat, Violet.

Mindy graduated from Kittanning High School in 1971. After she and Shep married, they moved to State College, then to the Philadelphia area, to West Virginia, and then Maryland, before ultimately settling in Mt. Lebanon, where they raised their family. Mindy had many talents and hobbies. In particular, she loved knitting, reading, cooking, traveling, dining, and appreciated a good glass of wine. However, her greatest joy was supporting her grandsons in every way. Known as "The Gram," she wouldn't miss a baseball game, a music concert, or a trip to Kennywood. Mindy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
